Why People Why?

I do not even understand why Beats headphones are so big. It is all ignorant word of mouth. They are not awful headphones in general but when you consider the cost, they are absolutely terribly. There is a reason Beats are not rated well on Cnet or End of the Internet. Real people review these and people who actually care about real audio quality. Look I am not saying that you won't hear Beats and think that it is good music quality because it is for sure better than standard Logitech or Ipod ear buds, but you cannot compare to other "top end" brands. These cost way too much, a pair of Studio(seen in the blue) are $300. A pair of iBeats(seen in the blue) is $120. I would actually say that if you are looking for a good pair of ear buds than the "lower" end Beats would be good. You are paying $80-$90 for a good ear bud. Ear buds are not often made for higher quality.

Really though, back to the headphones, there is no reason you should pay two to 600 dollars for meh. The funniest thing about Beats is that you pay for the brand BS. They try and sell you color and their amazing noise isolation technology. Okay I am getting off track a little here, I really am not saying that Beats wouldn't be worth $100 but you overpay for the brand, simple as that. You can buy Bose that most informed people will tell you are better for actual music. And most music isn't available at the quality it is made in. All you should be looking for in headphones are, a decent pair, a good base, and noise canceling if wanted. You can buy a $100 pair of Audio Technica that will be what you get from Beats only cheaper and possibly a little bit better on the base.

This is a very random rant and probably doesn't seem like I am giving that many facts but Beats is not giving me that many. Look the bottom line is anyone can look for themselves and decide for themselves. I am just saying, Beats are nowhere near worth the price you pay and you can get way better for you money. If pretty colors make a difference to you and you do not care about actual audio so be it. This article will make a lot of people mad and confused so I will give some links so that you may convince yourself.

What I use and Recommend

Bose QuietComfort 15

These are $300 and actually worth the price, the noise canceling is amazing and they sound incredible. I use them for PC gaming and music. The only downsides are the battery and a 1/4" adapter is not included.

Audio-Technica ATH M50

These are a nice $160 and worth every penny, the tax and the added protection plan. Everything is incredible about them, the bass comes in nice and the comfort is quite a nice feature with these.

Sennheiser HD 598

Great for audio at your house and you will be able to optimize your music. These are a little pricey and I wouldn't get them only because the noise isolation is kind of bad.

Klipsch Image S4 In-Ear Headphones

These are the ear buds I use and I love them, I got them for $70 and they are great. You actually get some bass with them and people can't hear them unless they are at max volume. The bad thing about these is that they don't include a lot more than sound quality.

This is what I would do with them.

Your purchase not mine.

This article did not bring a huge amount technical facts and was a little ranty and probably quite annoying. If you love your Beats than awesome, if you are looking for something different to buy or are in the market for great headphones, don't get Beats. I recommend a lot of brands and the Monster Beats are pretty good but they are too expensive for what you get. You should pay for what you are going to use anyways, not the brand. I hope this was informative or enlightening for some people.

I love Bose. Great for listening to classical, jazz and rhythm and blues. If I really need to crank the bass, I would go for Klipsh, but that doesn't happen often.

Yeah Bose and Senheiser have very clear and pure quality that is great for classical and really any kind of music. Classical really showcases them though.

I totally understand and agree with your rant, everyday on my morning train I see soooo many people with beats headphones and you can pretty much gurantee that their wallent is a few hundred pounds lighter for something that bose or senheiser can do the same or better for a fraction of the cost.

As a regular music listener I wouldn't choose the Beats headphones because of the price, but as a DJ my husband uses them for that purpose. They are an awesome headphone and I can understand the attraction besides pop culture pushing consumers along the way, but there are a lot of brands being overpriced by name only. Everything from clothing to food gets priced by name before quality.

I DJ and I use senheiser, they are absolutely rediculous. They look good and sound better to boot. Senheiser or Audio Technica all the way.
